Original Semi-Modular Design | Foundation for Version 2
HESCO Exhibition Stand Version 1 | Paris Show
Initial Design Concept for HESCO Programme
First-generation exhibition architecture developed for HESCO Bastion's Paris defence exhibition programme, serving as the foundation for subsequent design iterations. This original semi-modular system addressed HESCO's requirement for sustainable, reusable infrastructure suitable for Eurosatory and other European trade shows. The initial brief focused on creating contemporary presentation space for defence barriers and force protection systems while establishing eco-friendly exhibition standards - unusual in the defence sector at the time. This version successfully proved the concept of reusable architecture for defense exhibitions, leading to refinements in Version 2.
Design Features of Original System
The first-generation stand incorporated ultra-wide seamless projection screen as the signature visual element, natural timber accents, and energy-efficient LED lighting throughout. Semi-modular construction allowed partial reconfiguration while maintaining lower adaptability than the fully modular Version 2 that followed. Material selections emphasized sustainability: FSC-certified timber, recyclable components and LED technology. The open-plan layout with minimal architectural barriers created welcoming environment for procurement visitors, distinguishing HESCO from competitors using heavy conventional booth structures typical of sector exhibitions.
Legacy and Continued Use
This original design established HESCO's commitment to sustainable exhibition practices within the industry, influencing subsequent environmental policies across their global programme. The semi-modular system demonstrated that contractors could embrace eco-responsible approaches without sacrificing professional impact - an important precedent given sector scrutiny regarding environmental responsibility.
