Project Scope
Complete retail interior design, bespoke display manufacturing and shopfit installation for UStudio's flagship card and gift shop on Queens Road, Clifton, Bristol. Deliverables included storefront design, custom retail fixtures in natural timber and comprehensive project management from concept through installation.
Design Concept
A contemporary retail environment reflecting UStudio's design-led brand identity established through years of creating premium greeting cards and stationery. The interior translates their exhibition aesthetic into a permanent retail space, using natural materials and clean lines to showcase products while maintaining strong brand consistency.
The Solution
Having supplied many of the UK's best retail stores and galleries since the early noughties with contemporary, design-led greeting cards, stationery and giftware, publishers UStudio (formerly Urban Graphic) opened their own card and gift shop at the top of Queens Road, Clifton, Bristol.
The design concept - a strong reflection of the UStudio long-established unique brand. Our job - to realise the design visually and spatially in 3D and then produce it.
The storefront, with baton signage board, is a strong representation of the brand and this is continued throughout the retail store design scheme.
Very in keeping with the UStudio vibe and very much a continuation of their exhibition stand style, the retail interior makes great use of Douglas fir, walnut and distressed metal for its bespoke display architecture, wall and ceiling features.
