Urban Industrial Bar & Restaurant | Bristol
Project Scope
Complete interior design for a new bar and restaurant in Bristol city centre, creating a distinctive hospitality venue for young professionals. Services included space planning, material specification, furniture curation and collaboration with local street artists for custom murals.
Design Concept
An urban aesthetic combining exposed industrial elements with contemporary comfort. The design celebrates Bristol's creative character through raw materials, bold artwork and carefully considered lighting to achieve a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The Solution
Transforming a Shell Space into a Bristol Hospitality Destination. Starting with an empty commercial unit in Bristol's city centre, we developed a full-service venue concept targeting young professionals seeking quality food, drinks and atmosphere. The brief called for a space that balances social energy with intimate dining.
Celebrating Industrial Architecture. The existing building features - high ceilings, large windows, exposed brick and concrete walls - became design assets rather than challenges. We retained and enhanced these raw elements, leaving ceiling services visible and maximizing natural light to create an airy, spacious feel.
Custom Artistic Elements & Material Choice. We integrated original artworks by street artists SNIK to create large-scale murals directly on the exposed masonry, adding character and connecting to the city's thriving arts scene. Partition walls constructed from OSB sheet material provide functional separation while maintaining the industrial aesthetic and keeping costs accessible.
Finishes & Furnishings. Material selections include black powder-coated steel, solid timber surfaces and coloured glass accents. The furniture and lighting were curated to soften the raw environment, introducing warmth and comfort without compromising the contemporary edge. Each element reinforces the venue's identity as a relaxed yet refined gathering space for Bristol's creative professionals.
