Project Scope
Complete design, UK manufacture and Dubai installation of a reusable semi-modular exhibition stand for Betafence, a leading perimeter security and fencing solutions provider. The project addressed their annual participation in Middle East security trade shows, primarily Intersec Dubai - the region's largest security, safety and fire protection event. The brief required a reconfigurable structure adaptable to varying booth sizes across their UAE exhibition programme while maintaining architectural impact and brand consistency.
Architectural Concept & Glulam Timber Structure
The design uses FSC-certified Glulam (glued laminated timber) beams as the primary architectural element, creating dramatic arched structures that reference Betafence's core business in protective fencing and perimeter systems. These engineered timber beams, sustainably sourced and structurally robust, bolt together to form distinctive archways capable of supporting AV screens at strategic positions. The elevated corner branding maximizes visibility on the busy Intersec exhibition floor while the timber aesthetic differentiates Betafence from competitors using conventional stand systems in Dubai's World Trade Centre venue.
Flexible Configuration & Sustainable Materials
The semi-modular design allows Betafence to reconfigure the stand for 36m², 54m², or larger footprints depending on venue allocations across their UAE trade show calendar. Sustainable material specifications include FSC timber structure, natural sisal carpet flooring on raised platform and reusable graphic panels. The stand incorporates semi-open product display zones with theatrical lighting highlighting security equipment, a semi-private meeting lounge with pendant lighting for client discussions, integrated storage for marketing materials, and large-format graphics showcasing installations. This approach delivers professional presence comparable to custom builds while the reusable structure reduces waste and controls costs across multiple Middle East exhibitions.
International Project Delivery
Designed and manufactured at our UK workshops, the stand was shipped to Dubai for professional installation by our Middle East partners ahead of Intersec. The modular architecture facilitates efficient international logistics - components pack flat for container shipping - while the bolt-together assembly allows reliable setup by local contractors working to our specifications. This UK design + regional installation model enables Betafence to maintain consistent brand presence across their global exhibition programme while navigating the logistics complexities of Middle East trade show participation from their European headquarters.
