AN URBAN REGENERATION. The Nelson Inn is a late 19th century three-storey public house with an extraordinary green-glazed tiled ground floor. Located in Gloucester in a Conservation Area, just beyond the extent of the medieval walled city and the regenerated docks, the building called for a sympathetic design that would reflect the unique heritage of the site.
Designrock’s interior designers wanted to open up the inn’s existing distinct spaces and unite them by way of a focal point; a double sided open fire, with reclaimed surround. Authentic and durable materials add to the simplicity and versatility of the bar’s design concept, allowing for an eclectic mix of furnishings.
With flexibility at the heart of the scheme, the interior design of this bar is equally successful given either a high spend polished finish or recreated in a more rustic style. Contemporary yet with period touches, the interior design appeals to a broad spectrum of patrons.
