Demonstration facility
Invensys Rail, Chippenham
Scope: Design, production and installation.
Elements: A genius bar style technology demonstration area.
Concept: Hi-tech exhibition and high visual impact to echo a well established company identity.
What we did...These leaders in rail technology required a products and systems demonstration area, housed within an existing workshop, to present high definition videos and display information connecting over networks to trackside hardware.
Creating a new room, we made best use of the existing space, delivering high visual impact and facilitating a focused and immersive experience for visitors.
The aesthetic establishes a distinct contrast between the working areas and the demonstration facility.
Central to the demonstration facility design is a genius bar that allows visitors to view the different systems and presentations in a less formal way. What they experience in the presentation is echoed within the interior architecture so that clients are left with a strong and lasting impression.
Sequenced, energy efficient LED lighting provides a range of moods and focus for the different stages of the presentation, all controlled via a handheld wireless touchscreen interface.

Scope: Create a generic office interior design scheme.
Elements: Production of photo realistic images.
Concept: Executive, corporate appeal.
What we did...This office development, that existed on plan only, was brought to life with our interior designs scheme and 3D visualisations.
Impact...Capturing the imagination of potential tenants and giving them the confidence they needed to invest in a development that hadn’t yet been built, the photo realistic images provided a powerful pre-sales marketing tool.

Office Design
Hesco, Washington DC
Scope: Office design & specification
Elements: Glass partitioning & timber flooring
Concept: Clean, simple, light & bright
What we did…Situated in an historic building, formerly a paper mill, the industrial space lent itself beautifully to a creative & funky office design.
The challenge? The size! A quaint 88 square metres to house four workstations, a one-person office and a separate conference room. Keeping it simple was therefore the only way to go.
To keep the office interior bright and airy, glass partitioning creates the discrete spaces, making maximum use of natural daylight available.
Timber flooring in keeping with the history of the building further helps ensure that this office space offers a clean and healthy environment in which to work.
It’s well documented that the office environment has a major role to play in the happiness and productivity of staff - and with people and premises accounting for a large proportion of a company’s overhead, it pays to get the office design right.

Office Interior Designers
Spectrum Building, Bristol
Scope: Full office interior design scheme.
Elements: Photo-realistic visuals; Walk-through animation.
Concept: Healthy Workplace - Productive Company.
What we did...To assist in marketing this commercial office space, Designrock decided to offer GVA Grimley's clients something different - an intelligent office interior that could transform a company's culture.
Environmental and staff pressures are creating a radically new way of looking at and designing the interior of an office workspace. Work spaces that foster the health and well being of staff, help to reduce staff turnover and absenteeism, as well as to attract talent. Plus a new generation of workers are increasingly looking for employers who are serious about their environmental responsibilities.
This generic office design, for the Spectrum building in Bristol, specifies environmentally friendly materials and technologies, including an unassuming yet aesthetically sophisticated energy-saving lighting solution, consuming only 10% of energy used by standard lighting.
The scheme considers the long hours spent by staff at computer terminals and encourages people to look up and to interact. Movable living walls have an astonishing effect on this workspace, both visual and climatic. An optical attraction that contributes to a healthy indoor climate by spending oxygen and air humidity, and that absorbs sound and dust.
"You deliver exceptional work, on time and on budget."

Office Interior Refurbishment
GWS Media Ltd, Bristol
Scope: Cost-effective office interior refurbishment.
Elements: Flooring, wall & window finishes.
Concept: Vibrant, dynamic and engaging.
What we did...With a very short window of time before the GWS team were to move in, Designrock's office interior designers kept the solution simple.
With the windows requiring an application of etched film for security reasons, natural light to an already tired and drab office was reduced. So, unsightly and unhealthy carpet tiles were removed and replaced with a beautiful sustainable solid bamboo flooring with recycled content underlay. Reflecting light upwards, the bamboo greatly enhances the work environment.
Decorating throughout with organic air-purifying paint, with no unpleasant toxic odours offered the added benefit of a lifelong improved interior atmosphere.
Impact...Directors of GWS Media Ltd, commented on Designrocks “utter professionalism” in assisting them with a seamless move into their new offices: “Nothing was too much trouble. They delivered excellent value for money and real care for detail, as well as the flair of natural designers.”

Workspace Interior Design
Vertigo, Bristol
Scope: Office interior design scheme.
Elements: 3D visuals & walk-through animation.
Concept: Inspire and boost creativity and efficiency in the workplace.
What we did...Tackling an unconventional layout, Designrock’s solution for the interior design of this office works with the prominent structural feature, housing the escape stairs and lift shaft.
Used to excellent effect to conceal storage, provide reception seating, and create a discrete break out area with kitchen, this 'hub' helps to provide a focus and ensures a well organised and fluid working environment.
Clear and uncluttered, the space is comfortable and conducive to productivity. Striking crisp black and white walls are softened with beautiful FSC walnut veneer, instilling a natural, tranquil and well-balanced ambience. Our office interior designers specified an energy-saving lighting solution, consuming as little as 10% of energy used by standard lighting.

Serviced, sustainable Office Design
Maxet House, Cheltenham
Scope: New identity and office interior design scheme for a business centre.
Elements: Real impact on a very low budget.
Concept: Funky, low carbon and eco-friendly.
What we did...Playing with the 1950’s style our sustainable office design team produced a funky scheme that was affordable, stylish and sustainable.
Making maximum use of available natural daylight, complemented by energy efficient LED lighting solutions, FSC timbers, organic paint finishes and carpets with recycled content, our green approach makes for an environment that is considerate to the health and well-being of its occupants.
Designed with longevity in mind the breakout area has key statement pieces of furniture sitting alongside lower budget pieces - purposefully eclectic so that damaged items are easily replaced as and when, without having to match.
Impact...A brochure with bespoke 3D photorealistic visuals assisted in marketing this facility and attracting new tenants before the refurbishment was complete.
