What we did...For the launch of this new luxury retail business, selling handcrafted, predominantly British made lifestyle products, it was important to acknowledge the individual location of its flagship store, capturing the essence of the historic and geographic setting of Henley-on-Thames.

Gaining maximum leverage from the retail space our retail interior designers developed a 3D interpretation of the Humphreys brand identity, creating a clean and elegant interior that has instant impact and offers more of an ‘experience’.

Crafted from solid, natural materials, bespoke display architecture reflects the calibre of the premium product on offer, provides the perfect platform for showcasing local artisan pieces and guides the shopper through the store.

It’s always great to work with like-minded ethical businesses who are investing in building strong relationships with local artisans and suppliers.

Impact...Humphreys of Henley plans to open the doors to its flagship store in the very near future. Watch this space!

Restaurant and bar design

Shintori, Barnstaple

Scope: Create an identity & interior design for a new cocktail lounge bar/restaurant.

Elements: Brand identity; Full interior design concept & specification.

Concept: Shintori "New style, new reason"; playful yet sophisticated.

What we did... Located within a Grade II* listed building, we needed to honour the original heritage of the building and enhance existing features that had to be conserved.

Designrock's interior design mixed the old and new. Influenced by various Steampunk and Victoriana themes, we incorporated optical illusions and unique, bespoke items of furniture that present elements of surprise and reflect the vision behind the restaurant and lounge bar.

Specifying specialist environmentally-friendly plaster techniques, the latest in LED lighting and solid, natural materials, the interior design scheme is a celebration of both the historic and the contemporary.

Retail Display Design

Noo Noos, Shoreditch

Scope: Design and manufacture retail interior displays.

Elements: Bespoke free-standing, lockable units; storage & service counter.

Concept: Clean, simple, chic.

What we did...Reinforcing the Noo Noos brand, web-site and products the gloss white finish of the display units adds a touch of glamour to the aesthetic.

A low-cost solution, all the units were nevertheless made to measure for this compact retail space.

Picture frame inspired displays make a feature of key products and tie in with the Noo Noos online store.

Impact...Vibrant and engaging, Noo Noos flagship store presents an attractive interface for customers and staff.

Scope: Commercial design and installation of flagship store and showroom interior.

Elements: Fully accessible retail display units and counter.

Concept: Present a modern, vibrant and attractive face to the mobility market.

What we did...The technical and practical issues surrounding disability, mobility and access were paramount in our interior retail design of the store and showroom. The environment created succeeds in reassuring customers that INDY understands their needs and their individuality, and at the same time reinforces their brand image.

Portland Apartments, Bristol

Scope: Interior design scheme, specification & furnishing.

Elements: Design to delivery within a very compressed timescale.

Concept: Affordable 'Boutique' luxury and exclusivity.

What we did...Our interior design and the final look of the apartments aesthetically enhanced the stunning architecture of the building and also served to reinforce a strong and consistent visual identity across the serviced development.

Impact...Handing Designrock the reins assured that the interior designs were right for the market and avoided time and cost inefficiencies. Portland Apartment’s investment was working for them within days.

Bar Interior Design

The Nelson Inn, Gloucester

Scope: Concept design.

Elements: Full bar interior design scheme.

Concept: Contemporary with period touches.

What we did...Our bar designers ‘opened up’ the inn’s existing distinct spaces and united them by way of a focal point; a double sided open fire, with reclaimed surround. Authentic and durable materials add to the simplicity and versatility of the bar's interior design concept, allowing for an eclectic mix of furnishings.

Impact...Sympathetic to the unique medieval heritage of the site and broad in its appeal, Designrock’s flexible interior scheme breathed life back into this late 19th Century pub.

Retail Pop-up Stores

Flowers of Perfection, Bath

Scope: Concept design, modification, manufacture and store fit-out.

Elements: Cost effective retail display structure.

Concept: Accentuate the brand and complement the flowers.

What we did...For this Florist launch speed was of the essence. Set within a busy garden centre, design and installation of this low budget retail pop-up all happened in the space of just 5 weeks!

Designrock’s solution was a design bold in its simplicity clearly communicating the Flowers of Perfection brand and facilitating a boutique-like shopping experience.

What we did...Designrock's interior designers ensured that old and new worked in harmony, keeping the interior scheme simple and sleek and further accentuating the extraordinary beauty of the ancient beams. Muted tones and natural materials throughout the apartment contrast with frosted glass walls and sliding partitions, serving to bathe the interior of this loft space in natural light.

In the compact kitchen, glass partitioning and concealed appliances give the illusion of space.

Impact...This aspirational Mill was snapped up within weeks of being on the market.

Mill Conversion: Garden Apartment

Garden Apartment, Nibley

Scope: Full interior design scheme & specification.

Elements: Floating wall feature; Bi-fold doors to terrace.

Concept: Timeless & sympathetic to the building's heritage.

What we did...Re-developing this extraordinarily beautiful 18th century mill house required incredible sensitivity.

The ground floor 3 bed apartment boasts a large, airy open-plan living space, with generous kitchen, lounge and diner areas. A floating wall housing an entertainment system and an inset pillbox fire, both help to add definition to the space. Bi-fold patio doors leading out to the terrace help to maximise natural light.

Remaining sympathetic to the heritage of the building and surroundings our stylish, timeless interior design scheme, specified solid materials, renewable natural flooring and organic paint finishes.

Mill Conversion: Boutique Pied-à-Terre

Luxury Apartment, South Gloucestershire

Scope: Full interior design scheme and specification.

Elements: Photorealistic interior visualisation and walk-through animation videos.

Concept: Luxurious and aspirational, to include an indoor-outdoor living environment.

What we did...Offering a great living space and a plush bedroom suite, this apartment design scheme specified solid materials and organic paint finishes throughout.

Oak flooring to the living area, runs seamlessly out on to an oak terrace. The space is further enhanced with bi-fold doors, allowing for an uninterrupted view of the surrounding countryside. Enclosed in brushed stainless steel and frosted glass, our interior designers gave the terrace further impact with LED uplights set into the deck.

Using beautiful natural materials; oak and limestone to the kitchen and slate to the lounge, the design team successfully tied the living spaces together whilst maintaining clear differentiation between the two areas.

What we did...This quirky first floor city centre apartment is shaped like the bow of a ship. Echoing the unconventional curved architecture, the apartment’s interior design scheme delivers modern simplicity and home comfort, achieved through clever utilisation of the space available, and all on a modest budget.

Offering a practical and contemporary living space, and ideally located a stone’s throw from Bristol Children’s Hospital and Royal Infirmary, the apartment is now the perfect pad for medical professionals.
